Society for Environment and Human Development (SEHD) has organized the premier screening of its documentary film, Biponno bon (Stolen Forest ). Biponno Bon (Stolen Forest) is a documentary film about the phenomenal destruction of the forests of Bangladesh . Outside the Sundarbans, the single largest mangrove patch on earth, very little of the public forests survive today. The film pays particular attention to the underlying factors for the demise of the forests. It shows how monoculture plantations of exotic and invasive species in particular have replaced the native forests of hundreds of species. It also appeals for actions for saving the last forests of Bangladesh . |
